This is because the automated search engines are very thorough and vast. Determine which site you want to use for your query and then follow the steps they provide and you are on your way to finding your person of interest.

Many online databases need at a minimum the persons last name. In addition to the last name, you can input their first name, city, state, email and phone number. When people perform daily routines online such as paying their bills, signing up for email, become members of professional and social online communities and buy merchandise online, all of this personal information creates databases. These databases then contain demographics that become search-able.

Remember that when searching for people, the more information you can enter about them, the chances of you locating them increases. There are also some cases where you can perform reverse-searches. This is simply a query where you input the persons telephone number in reverse order.

A second way to find people is by a telephone book. A telephone book has the persons first and last name, home address and telephone number.
